Nothing makes investing feel like investing to me more than dividends. To me there is something extremely satisfying about either seeing my checking account grow via my investments or else getting more shares as I reinvest dividends.
This is really the peak stretch for my dividend stocks. By my count, I have 17 equities going x dividend between now and the end of November. And the total amount I will earn (using my factor) is a smidgen more than $9,000. It is real money. That is the payoff of doing this for many years. Your investments start having children. And the the children of your investments start having children. That is how you build wealth, compounding. Another nice thing about dividends is they are taxed at a lower rate than ordinary income. Sweet.
