Two Transactions Today

Sold Some GNW (30%) and Bought SLW

Well, I had put in an order last week to buy SLW if it fell beneath $22 a share. And today it was downgraded and triggered my order.  While I was pleased at the price, I wanted to stay in about 25% cash.  So I decided to sell some of my GNW to offset the SLW purchase.  I am still a GNW fan, but it was my single largest holding (10% bigger than AAPL) and it was twice as large as the average of my to 20 holdings.  So the sale right-sized GNW to some extent. 

Worked out well the first day, as SLW climbed 2.8% from my purchase price while GNW dropped a couple percent.  But it is a marathon, not a sprint and I still care a LOT more about GNW.

CSCO and GA went up nicely today, it was actually a strong day for me. My dividend portfolio was up 1.03%, my MFI portfolio was up 28 basis points and I was up 61 basis points overall on a down day for the markets.

I have added SLW with it's 2.6% dividend to my dividend portfolio.  Also, STO goes x-dividend tomorrow.  It is $1.16, so a bit better than I thought yesterday (a 5% yield).
