My investing is really going well right now. Certainly not a time to be complacent, but I had a great 2012 and so far this year I am up more than 13% and am officially standing at the highest value of my portfolio ever. I know only too well how fast that can slip through your fingers. I think what is different this time is that I have matured as an investor (ok, in other ways as well)! It helps to have a plan, an attitude, an approach, a road map, heck even Apple Maps! It is also best to panic before everyone else panics!
I do think re-reading Margin of Safety has really helps as well. I would say it was key to my recently selling KMF, BHK and JQC, which were all (IMHO) fully valued. And then reinforced my view to buy BAC-WT, TC-PT while adding to AAPL, GNW, FCX, RIG and SD (while re-buying GTAT). If I had not re-read the book, I doubt I would have had the fortitude to pull the trigger on basic material plays during that three week downturn. I am now hopeful those will turn out to be some of my most profitable trades a year from now.
Then my MFI tranches continue to move up nicely. In total they are now almost 2% up over indices. That is a huge move considering 60 days ago they were 2% lower.

That February portfolio is especially kicking some a**. Up 24%, wow! Attaboy, February 2013!
