Waiting For My Train

Just finished a couple days of intense meetings in New York.  At Penn Station waiting for my train home.  It is running late (as usual).  Thought I would knock out a quick blog post on the speedy Amtrak Wifi (actually, it is pretty fast in the station).

As you may recall, I was pretty active last week.  I bought additional GA as I felt it was a safe place to park some $ with their buyout offer of 11.75, which I felt has upside.  Then I bought GTAT on their big sell-off post their secondary.  Finally I bought TC as TD published a report speculating about their insolvency and placing a 50 cent price target.

The GA move looks pretty smart so far.  I am already up 3% as they went x-dividend today.  And the board announced they have hired MS to look at strategic options, which could certainly front run a higher bid (Giant Interactive Announces Retention Of Special Committee Financial Advisors).

The TC move looks good as well,  though I was about 4 hours early.  I bought at 2.19 and it promptly dropped to 2.11.  But it is now 2.33 for a snappy 6.4 gain thus far.  Just like the GA purchase, I am in no rush to sell.

For GTAT, my first tranche at 9.28 was definitely early.  My second tranche at 8.45 is up a dime so far.  I am not losing sleep on this one as I believe in their future.

My 4 MFI tranches are now ahead by 25.8%.  That is a stunning number.  My February tranche has a shot at being a double across 5 stocks.
