I did just catch that POZN paid a special $1.75 dividend. In addition, CPLA initiated a dividend. Check out the quarter for POZN... up 99%!
Almost Too Good To Be True
One item I have not mentioned on my blog is that I did subscribe to 2 news letters in 2013. Out of respect to the news letter writers (who charge a fee for their services) I do not think it is fair of me to comment publicly that I buy a stock because of them, as that is proprietary, That being said, now that it has been a while since my last purchases with them, I will mention them as I feel they do ad value.
The first is Trifecta Stocks (Trifecta Stocks - TheStreet). I bought IP and HIMX because of them. I broke even on IP but am up 58% with HIMX. I can not remember what the annual fee was, but I promise you my gain on HIMX would easily pay for a lifetime subscription. HIMX is my fifth best stock ever for $ gain (it is even ahead of NUS).
The second is IPO Desktop (IPO Desktop Premium). I have used their insight to help me decide what IPOs to invest in (both pre and post IPO). They have great write-ups and a lively discussion board. Obviously, this one has also paid for itself many times over.
So I would recommend either of these newsletters, though one needs to keep in mind that many ideas can appear very good in a favorable market environment. I also believe it is important to do your own homework, I only used a very small proportion of what they recommended. But they have also helped give that extra conviction on when I invested to not go in with half measures, but rather full measures (like the Breaking Bad reference?).
