September to Remember?

Well, I am not sure if Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve deciding not to taper yet is the best thing for the country, but it certainly was the best thing for my portfolio... as least today.  This was My Best Day Of The Year. I was up 1.84%.  That might not be the best pct gain of the year (I am too lazy to figure that out), but on an absolute dollar gain, it was my BDOTY.

Everything worked, but GTAT was especially upward bound.  It shot up 9.6%, which means it is up a mind boggling 173% since I bought in early March.  I have never ever had a stock go up that much that fast in which I had a sizable investment.  It appears there are rumors that AAPL is going to start using sapphire based screen in the upcoming Ipads.  While sapphire is more expensive, it is virtually unbreakable and unscratchable (Rumor: Apple may use Sapphire Cover Glass for 2014 iPhone).

I have always maintained that if sapphire began to take off, GTAT could be a $9 stock (MFI Diary: GTAT Soaring).

SBS also spiked up more than 7% today.  It is funny, I keep a list of the stocks I have made the most money on ever, looking at all my transactions back to 1999.  GTAT and SBS are #2 and #3.  (Mittal Steel, MT is number one).

Then MFI is having a solid September.  The table below shows how each stock in my index has done for the year and the month of September.  Overall up over 38% for the 50 stocks, including one that went to 0.  Wow! Enjoy.  It is cool that I have owned both NUS and GTAT from this list:
