Fallen Apple

Hell Hath No Fury Like Apple Investors Scorned

How does that saying go about a woman scorned? Obviously the writer did not know about AAPL investors.  They quickly moved from $506 to $467 based on the investor days put on by AAPL.  It was weird (to me) because I felt that Apple said exactly what people expected them to say.  And I am actually interested in the "C" phones.  I may be buying one in the next month.  It does make me thankful that I sold 1/3 of my AAPL holdings at $508 in the back part of August.

I had dinner last night right next to the Bay Bridge. They have really turned it into an attractive bridge at night with these LED lights that run down the cables.  Then you forget how steep the streets are here.

I am sad to say that the open positions in my dividend portfolio have gone "negative" that is trailing their Russell 3000 counterparts.  This has been my lagging portfolio all year. Most of the year, I have explained the subpar performance to yield rates going up (which makes dividend stocks less attractive on a relative basis) and the fact that I had too much (part of year) in precious metals.

But perhaps part of it is due to my not having a good portfolio.  It is something I need to think hard about.  If the stocks are just having a relatively bad stretch, that is ok as that means my reinvested divdends are buying more shares. But if these are really not good stocks, then more shares of not great stocks may not be the penultimate goal.
