2013 Thus Far

Seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the new year.  Now we are about to say adios to July.  Looking back at 2013 so far, I think it is safe to say it has been a successful investing year. On a nominal basis, up over 20% and on a relative basis, I am beating the benchmarks.

I have probably sold a few stocks before their time and will definitely owe some short term taxes.  JPM is the classic example, I had great gains on them, but got a bit spooked about the Jamie Dimon vote. But in investing, if you get two out three right, you are batting 1,000.

As you can see, some of my more recent purchases (BBEP, HIG and NSU) have done pretty well.  Looks like another very hot day in Zurich.  Forecast is 99 degrees.  May have to go find some cool water!
