Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks

Perfect Thanksgiving Day here in New England.  It has been a mild fall thus far.  A few nights have dropped into low 20s, but nary a flake of snow yet. We are due for a below average snow season.

I did have a slight brain fart this morning, I deleted my main file tracking all my investments. Fortunately, I do back it up - so I pulled that in. But I did lose some of the daily information I put in and my weekly update will actually encompass more than a week. Oh well.

Starting To Look Up

Seems like a rally often occurs around now through the year end.  This week has been strong thus far.  Three of my four selected tranches are winning handily.  My most recent two: August and November are off to outstanding starts.

But MFI in total is still struggling.  I saw the same thing back in 2007, the smaller cap stocks flailed while the larger cap stocks motored on.  Then in the 2008 crash (hopefully not to be repeated), the big cap stocks caught up, but then the smaller cap stocks rebounded very sharply.

So what I am saying is that while this small cap struggle is dampening results, that when they recover - it has the potential to be very strong.  I am staying the course.

Have a great thanksgiving everyone. I'll be watching my Cowboys - although I have not a clue why we're favored against the 10-0 Panthers. I'd rather not give them additional incentive.
