November 15th 2012 Runoff

One thing I do is not only track my MFI tranches, but how the prior year ran off. This is because JG in is book always said the one year sell date rule was arbitrary and driven by taxes, not performance.  Here is the performance of the one year runoff of the stocks in my November 2012 tranche:

11/15/12 Runoff Start Current Dividend Pct Gain
AAPL       75.35         109.40 $1.88 47.7%
ABC       69.23           86.90 $0.94 26.9%
VIAB       80.94           72.83 $1.30 -8.4%
WU       16.40           17.10 $0.50 7.3%
LPS         n/a            n/a            n/a 0.0%
Totals 18.4%

As a reminder, here was the actual tranche:

11/15/12 Stocks Start Current Dividend Pct Gain R3K Gain
AAPL $537.62 $527.28 $8.75 -0.3% 36.7%
ABC $40.21 $69.23 $0.86 74.3% 36.7%
LPS $23.89 $34.26 $0.40 45.1% 36.7%
VIAB $49.12 $80.94 $1.15 67.1% 36.7%
WU $12.77 $16.40 $0.50 32.3% 36.7%
Totals 43.7% 36.7%
You will note I did not track the runoff of LPS.  It was sold and only changed a little from $34 price.   Here is how my 2013 November tranche has done:

11/15/13 Stocks Start Current Dividend Pct Gain R3K Gain
AVG $17.22 $17.92 $0.00 4.1% 13.2%
ATVI $17.71 $20.30 $0.20 15.7% 13.2%
GA $9.04 $11.90 $0.23 34.2% 13.2%
RPXC $17.04 $13.76 $0.00 -19.2% 13.2%
SYNA $48.01 $65.72 $0.00 36.9% 13.2%
Totals 14.3% 13.2%
So a few days left, but I am trailing the runoff by 3 to 4 points.
