Definitely music to my ears. That is what PRE's press release said this evening (PartnerRe Ltd. Increases Quarterly Common Share Dividend by 3% to $0.64 from $0.62 per Share). In the announcement today, PRE commented that this is the 20th straight year they have hiked their dividend. I know 3% doesn't sound like much, but over 20 years it starts to add up!
I know I prune my portfolio every now and then. But when you have a quality company steadily growing earnings and dividends over 20 years; you do not need to over-think things.
It was kind of a strange day for my portfolio, I felt it was bad as GNW was down 3% as was NUS. But overall I was pretty much flat.
