The market continues to move up smartly. Shows what I know. The one recent move that is gnawing at me was my knee jerk sale of TROX post their earnings in November. Since I sold them, they have actually rallied about 28%. QCOR was another early mistaken trigger, it is up a snappy 35%.
That is what makes investing so difficult. One makes a stock purchase for what seems a good reason. Then, it is very easy to read many articles about that stock, some of which will invariably be negative. It is often difficult to have conviction in the face of that. That is probably why I am more successful investing in insurance companies as I just have more general knowledge about that business, the companies and the overall environment. I do not get spooked as easily by a seeking alpha article.
That is also the beauty of a dividend-based approach while picking high quality companies initially at decent prices. You can shut out the noise and just let the magic of compounding work.
