Furious Rally

My MFI stocks continue their speeding recovery, as we actually are getting close to passing break-even again. I would sure like to put break-even well in my rear view mirror. So we'll step on the gas and see what happens.

Here is a table that shows my performance

MFI Annual Performance

ITD Annual
2006 10.74% 10.74%
2007 -6.57% -15.63%
2008 -41.60% -37.50%
2009 0.71% 72.47%
2010 -2.44% -3.13%

Getting kind of hopeful! I did re-buy CEU this week as I try and get my portfolio back to invested (still 15% cash).

Born to Run!

One stock I owned for a while (and then sadly sold) was BORN. It came to my attention in this article:

Raise a Glass to China New Borun

I bought it around $7 and then sold at a snappy $10.20, feeling proud of a successful buy/sell as they proceeded to drop below $8. Then IBD came out with this article:

Investors Raise Their Glasses To Producer Of Chinese National Drink

and the stock has been a rocket since then!

I do think some of my current holdings (like EESC, CCME and NEWN) have the potential to do the same. It seems that the irrationality on these Chinese hybrids is starting to wane a bit (even CSKI has moved up from $6.50 to over $9.00 again).
