Interestingly, my portfolios did very, very well during my absence.

Tomorrow I am supposed to turn over my August 15th tranche from a year ago. It may have to wait until next week when I get back home. Overall, the four tranches are up 27% and beating indices by almost 9 points. Yesterday's spike in AAPL definitely helped!

Discretionary
Stock | Gain | Cost | Price |
GNW | 80.2% | 7.10 | 12.80 |
GTAT | 69.3% | 3.39 | 5.74 |
3.4% | 11.15 | 11.53 | |

HIG-WT | 9.8% | 20.70 | 22.74 |
Grand Total | 41.7% |
Something good must have happened with GTAT! Now up 63%. Then recall I made 25% on them earlier in 2013.
So overall, 2013 has been a very good year, I am up over 24% and beating the R3K by 3.5 points. Sweet!
More later!

A good Friday afternoon to you,
I am very curious to learn what new tranche of stocks you added for the 8/15/13 rollover? Perhaps I missed or can't find the posting?
Thanks, Karl
