A 1000 Words

At first I thought that sharp spike at the right was a mistake. I double checked it and it was right. Let us just say I am quite happy. My portfolio is now 3.6% above the benchmark.

ISNS hit its one year anniversary. Can't complain, up 21%. I am not sure what I will buy to replace it. I may wait a couple weeks as I am trying to spread my dates out a bit.

The MFI stock contest is having a few bumps. I ask everyone to make sure they are following the rules of 15 stocks at $10,000 per stock. Next week I will post what stocks are being held and give public warnings if people are not following the rules. Portfolio deletion will follow that.

Here are my current holdings along with my new record differential from the benchmark:

Welcome back.

Things are looking up for DGX - Quest Diagnostics. There are buyout rumors everywhere.

I am actually a customer of Quest Diagnostics and find their labs well-maintained, well staffed and conveniently located in the New York area.

Here's hoping for an additioinal gain!

Hey, mg. You know how I picked my 15 for the contest, of course. Monday's my next "real world" tranche turnover, so stay tuned.

btw, did you see the slaughter that was MTEX today? Unfortunately, that was one of my May acquisitions. I'm curious if you had considered and discarded that one (as an opposite study to our earlier HNR discussion).

I did consider MTEX when it came up for me. The negative press from WSJ article was a big reason I moved on. I almost bought HLF instead at the time. Tough luck for you ST. I think they'll bounce back though.

Yeah, well, thank goodness for diversification, because that decline barely made a blip in my overall portfolio and I'm still way ahead of the benchmark.

I'm not a lawyer, but my guess is that this will hinge on whether the "freelance sales force" that may have made unreasonable claims had an agency relationship with the company or could be construed to have had such a relationship. Even if the company claims there was no such agency relationship but they acted like there was such a relationship, they could be screwed. Then, if the Texas AG wins, you can expect other states to pile on. What's with this country?? If a company wants to claim that their product cures Down Syndrome, warts, and cholera all at once with no side effects, why can't they??? Doesn't it say that in the Constitution??? (just kidding!!!)
