Eyjafjallajoekull

Now that is a mouthful. But that mouthful is keeping me stranded in London away from my family. Really not much I can do. Some friends of mine are talking about alternatives including
  1. driving to Glascow, where it is rumored flights are leaving
  2. taking a train to Rome, Madrid or Lisbon, which may be open
  3. Taking the Queen Mary to New York
  4. finding a private jet that can fly lower
I suppose everyone has to do what they think is best, but my plan is to hunker down and wait for the all clear. I have a decent room, I am near work and London is a great connecting hub where they speak English.

In the meantime, might as well write my blog a bit. Life isn't so bad, I have Santana playing through Itunes, I saw a fun show in the West End last night and I have a high speed connection.

First, I did update the mechanical portfolios, one new stock added this week to both the top 30 and top 50 portfolios, BDSI. This is another of those biotech companies, with no real income stream but is on the list due to a one time event. While I have only ever bought one of these (CYTK) it should be noted that some of them have done quite well. XOMA is up 72% since hitting the top 30 list in early February. Here is the top 30 list of open stocks:
