Greetings from Louisville

Hello to my faithful 30 readers. I am actually quite excited today as I am in Louisville Kentucky to see my 1st ever Kentucky Derby. Looks like a miserable day here, but that is okay. We'll see if I can find a "magic formula" to pick a few winners. It is interesting looking at the racing form, there are a LOT of other big races today, 2 other Grade I races besides the Derby.

I had another strong week and a fabulous day yesterday as ICO (which I counted as an MFI stock) went up 25%, TC went up 5%, SOLR was up 5%... sadly I had sold out of CAST, which was up over 10%. My mechanical portfolio continues to kick the derriere of the S&P 500, now up 17%, with open stocks up 21% led by MWW, which is a rocket stock. The portfolios are making real money as well.

It looks like 2 stocks "may" get added on Monday: RST and ULCM. As I am traveling, I am not sure if they meet the criteria (new in past year), but I think they do. (actually I checked and there are 5 new stocks: RST, ULCM, CRAY, TYPE and TSRA. ULCM looks to be a mistake (they just paid a large one-time divdend that isn't in the calc). I will review the others and comment later.

Wow, didn't know I was one of the few and proud to be following your posts. Your profile also lists that your an actuary. I myself am one also. I assume you like the formulary approach MFI provides. I also noticed some Net Net stocks in your portfolio that Graham would have approved of. Did you find these under MFI or do you also have a Graham screen?
