Well, I am back. Great skiing... well not great skiing by me personally, but weather-wise. All limbs accounted for, that is always a positive. Did have to hunker down for a day due to Valentine's Day Blizzard. Enough idle chatter.
I'd like to say that my MFI portfolio took off while I was gone... but that would be a lie. Had a decent week, but I lost some ground to the benchmarks.
The countdown has begun, I will have my first major change of MFI stocks at this time next week. I plan on selling UST, MSTR and MGLN (winners) and TBL (loser). I plan on holding PTEN, PACR & HW (actually will add shares) assuming they are all eligible. After re-balancing those three stocks, I should have enough cashola for two (2) new stocks. Yes, I have my random number generator ready. The following week, I will say "au revoir" to ANF, another winner and will buy a third new stock. That will be "fini" on my action until April.
In other fun news, my February 17th 2006 portfolio has hit its anniversary... "happy birthday to you.." Below I list the 50 odd stocks that comprised that portfolio (which I set up right after reading about MFI in Smart Money, but before actually buying the book). The list is actually "larger" cap stocks, I think I had a minimum market cap of $1.5b. They still did quite "satisfactory" (up 21.2% vs. 14.5% for benchmark Russell 3000), illustrating that this is not a just a process for uncovering under-followed stocks.

Finally, my weekly graphs and charts. Should be seeing more items in the "sold" section shortly. I will treat the 3 companies that I am re-enlisting as sales and then a purchase, so you will see new dates and purchase $ associated with them. I think that is the cleanest approach.

Welcome back Marshall! I missed you blogging.
TRLG is doing very well.
I also picked up some RAIL this week as part of my Feb. buys.
I am trying to pick up ASPV (about 75 cents out of the money) and VCI..which is dropping little by little.
Good to be back. I sold my TRLG from my sidecar, but still hold as core MFI stock. I was surprised ASPV didn't get more of a boost from what I felt were strong earnings. I am also keeping an eye on VCI, it is on my short list for late February.
