Weekend Update - Spectacular, Spectacular

Wow, what a spectacular, spectacular (who knows that reference?) weekend here in Connecticut.  Got a lot of gardening done and general sprucing up.  Needed to get things done as I head off to Switzerland tomorrow night.

It was also a spectacular, spectacular week for my stock portfolio, Overall I was up 4.5%.  My dividend portfolio was up 3.3%.  I feel really good about some of my recent changes, selling KMF, JQC and BHK.  It is time to move away from the more bond-like plays in my opinion.  Then I think I got TC-PT at a fire sale price (not quite the bottom, but my average cost is $15.43 and I have already accrued a 40 cent dividend.  I also like GNW and SD (and AAPL) quite a bit.  With my moves, I have concentrated my portfolio a bit.  Here are my 20 largest holdings (multiplied by mystery factor):

New Tranche Thoughts

I will be starting my 4th MFI tranche in May.  I am kicking around a bunch of ideas.

Education stocks - I do wonder if these are getting close to the bottom.  Am considering either BPI or APOL.

Chinese Gaming stocks - As you can see, GA so far has turned out to be a great pick.  Even with the run up, I show them as a top 20 stock in my top 200 list I published last week.  CYOU is another possibility.

Tech Stocks - Tech is one sector that really has not participated in recent rally.  KLAC, TER, CA and AAPL all look pretty darned reasonable to me.

Retail - I pulled away from retail at the start of the year.  Is it time to add a name or two?  BKE and EXPR look tempting.

Defense - While defense stocks are unloved, I find XLS pretty intriguing.  They strike me as a potential acquisition target.

Have a great weekend everyone!
