It was not a good week for my various portfolios. Overall I was down 4.5%. The dividend portfolio was down 3.5%. I am too bummed to figured out the other ones.
But that is okay. As I mentioned in my car analogy yesterday, just because people are willing to pay less for your car one week versus the next; it still has value to you in driving to work, having fun etc. None of the functionality is gone. Same with a portfolio. I am spinning off the same dividends I was a week or two ago. I think you mentally kick yourself as you think those stocks you bought two weeks ago, you could have bought 5 or 10% cheaper today. Get over it.
Transactions
I did make a couple of modest transactions during the week. I remain about 30% in cash. Most were at the margins, I added to my TC-PT, AAPL, SD and GNW positions as my analysis shows those are the best buys out there. I also re-bought my position in GTAT, I just believe in their story. Finally, I did pull the trigger on BAC-WTA. Here is a good article describing these warrants (BAC Stock And Warrant Returns Relative To Book Value). Essentially they have a strike price of $13.30 with an expiration date of 1/16/2019. So almost six years away. I paid $5.09 for the warrants, so if BAC goes above $18.39 after 6 years, I will have made money. I also get accrual of dividends over 4 cents a year. The book value of BAC is over $20. It is a levered play for me, but seems a very calculated risk given the 6 year window.

MFI Tranches
Definitely losing some ground here, down by an average of 4%. KFY, NSU and UIS have given back most of their earlier gains. February tranche is looking strong though.
