Weekend Update - Jan 19 2013

Quick Update

Quick update right now as we're heading to the Big Apple for the weekend.  I may post some more on Monday.  My portfolios continue to motor along, general breadth of market rise has me pretty much tracking the indices.  The one piece that trails (as usual) is the two MFI tranches.  MFI in general seems to be faring ok (I show the MFI index for the year in the table below), but my ten stocks are not so hot.

Progressive did announce their annual results along with their "annual" dividend (note they paid a second special dividend last year) of  .2845.  Hard to get excited about that, not much more than a percent.  I suspect that is a function of the special dividend and Hurricane Sandy. Like I said, that is a quick update.  When I have more time, I will expand on a couple themes I have been thinking about.
