AAPL - Sold off since touching $700. While it is clear there are/will be competitors (Samsung, Lenovo, Google, Microsoft etc), the fact that such a high quality company with solid growth prospects is on the MFI screen was all I needed to know.
ABC - They are a middle man in distributing pharmaceuticals. I view them as a conservative play as I do think spending on healthcare will continue to ratchet up.
LPS - They are involved with processing mortgages. They got a black eye in the whole global financial crisis, but seem to have survived that. They are a play on the housing market, which I expect to rebound as interest rates are kept at fire sale prices.
VIAB - Not unlike my Vivendi play, Viacom is a media content play. I think we will continue to love our music, movie and tv shows, even in difficult times. And at the end of the day, owning the original content is all-important.
WU - Western Union seems old school, but in a lot of the world, wiring money to people is used a lot. Not a growth company, though I think they have opportunities. Again, I view this as a conservative play, like ABC. Not trying to get rich quick here.
So here are my two tranches and how they're doing:
