Early Warning?

I have mentioned several times here that MFI seems to be streaky. JG said in his book that MFI only wins 7 of 12 months. I thought that would be random, but so far it is anything but random. I listed all the months of my monthly tracking portfolios with a 1 meaning MFI beat the russell 3000 and a 0 meaning it lost. Had a nice streak going from 4/08 to 4/09, but now it is a mixed bag (with more turning to 0 seemingly every day) for open portfolios since 5/29/09. Here is the list:

I'm really surprised that in the midst of the rally last year (May 09 tracking portfolio) is when MFI began to fall behind. It seems like many people feel the system gains more in up markets but loses more in down markets. Your tracking portfolios for those months would seem to indicate differently (though it's only a handful of data points).
