No New Stocks

It is interesting. In my mechanical portfolio which "buys" new stocks to the top 25 screen every weekend, we haven't had a new stock now since January 5th. That is the longest stretch since June (there was another stetch in August, but that was because I was on vacation). The portfolio continues to do "well", beating the S&P by 4.6%... though the Bank of Seely's would have done better as we're about 21% underwater.

Random Number Generator? As people may know, I have created a new monthly tracking portfolio of the 50 top stocks over 100m since January 2006. Here is a simplistic way of looking at how they have done. A "1" means they beat or are beating the Russell 3000, a "0" means they did not. What I find interesting (as a mathematician) is that the pattern doesn't seem random, until recently.
