No Surprise I am Struggling

The Struggle Is Real

Look at my 12 open tranches of MFI Tracking:

7/25/2014 2.7% 7.3%
8/29/2014 -1.1% 5.4%
9/26/2014 5.5% 7.0%
10/31/2014 4.2% 4.8%
11/28/2014 -0.7% 2.3%
12/31/2014 -1.5% 2.4%
1/30/2015 0.4% 5.2%
2/27/2015 -6.9% -0.4%
3/27/2015 -3.5% 1.1%
4/24/2015 -9.0% -1.6%
5/29/2015 -3.3% -1.2%
6/26/2015 -4.3% -1.3%
Average -1.4% 2.6%

The first % column is MFI results and the second is the benchmark.  You can see that in aggregate all 12 tranches are in the red.  You can also see that all 12 are losing. I have often commented on the streakiness of the MFI investing approach.  It would appear we may be in a losing streak.  And being in just dividend stocks isn't helping either, the 12 open portfolios there are down 2.2% as stocks like MSB, NSU and GORO have been pummeled.

I remember this happened in 2007 (arguably the last peak) and MFI under performed.

8/31/2006 13.0% 13.3% 0
9/28/2006 12.7% 14.6% 0
10/27/2006 10.3% 12.0% 0
11/29/2006 -0.3% 4.8% 0
12/28/2006 -6.9% 3.4% 0
1/26/2007 -10.2% -6.6% 0
2/27/2007 -3.7% -1.0% 0
3/26/2007 -9.8% -5.5% 0
4/27/2007 -10.9% -5.0% 0
5/29/2007 -11.5% -6.3% 0
7/3/2007 -30.0% -15.6% 0
7/30/2007 -19.9% -11.5% 0
8/30/2007 -12.5% -8.7% 0
When things started to hit bottom, MFI then out performed.  I am not saying we're at the peak and things are about to drop 40%, but there are some parallels.
