My Spiffy 50 vs Ed's Talking Stock

Ed's Talking Stock Match-Up

It is been a while since I compared my Spiffy 50 stocks that I picked December 3rd last year versus Ed McGonigal. Ed had his best month in September, largely because he was on the sidelines waiting to open a new brokerage account for (gasp) day-trading. I was stunned when I saw he was going that route as he is a highly emotional/volatile traders, who changes his view regularly. The other day he was saying we will be re-testing Dow 666. We'll see, but I'd be surprised if it got that bad.

Since he started October 5th (day-trading) he has really struggled. I do feel badly for him, but I also feel badly for people who read his blog and follow his advice... which is all over the place.

My spiffy 50 has definitely had its own warts. I had stocks such as CCME and EESC that are verging on worthless. But I am ahead by about 10 points. With a much lower trading cost as well.
