Just 8 trading days left on my August 15th, 2017 MFI Select Portfolio. I did some work this weekend to come up with a final idea list... unless something major happens in next 10 days, I'll likely pick my 5 new stocks from here.
It is funny, even though the stock market feels extended, I really didn't struggle to find 13 stocks I am interested in buying.
I did have some technical issues running my top 200 list. Fidelity (which I use to pull all key data as they use Compustat), seems to have changed things around. I will give it a week to see if things sort themselves out... otherwise, I'll have to spend a week re-writing my formulae.
Dividend Index Observation
I do keep a benchmark dividend portfolio of 40 securities listed by Barron's for income in December. While at 1/2 point for the year it had done nothing, it has really been doing well of late (up 4.1% in Q3). Not sure if that is just catch up or perhaps a view that interest rate raises may moderate.
