Good News for TGB

TGB had more good news today. As you might recall they recently commented that one of their mines has about 25% more gold and copper than they thought. Today they announced that they're getting metal out of the ground very efficiently (Taseko's Q4 Copper Production Increases by 33% Over Q3 to 16.8 M Pounds).

33% more is a lot. And at near record high copper prices, that has to be good as they are totally unhedged (unlike NXG). Stock went up 20 cents on the news making TGB up about 106% for me. Wish I had a few more TGBs.

Otherwise just another day in my marathon MFI portfolio's life. I use the marathon analogy as I ran my first ever 5K today with my wife in support of Breast Cancer. Didn't set the world afire, but it felt good to accomplish my goal.

I appreciate Tony's thoughts on VPHM. I guess this weekend I'll give my next purchase a good think. Maybe I will find another TGB. Here is the current list of eligible bachelors...

I don't know, I might have to go with good old KG again. FTD is another strong option. I may need to look more at LRW (I owned them many years ago with bad results) and HSII (though with GVHR & KFY I am a little heavy in this area... and I have a problem with a stock that has the word "struggles" in its name).

Ok enough typing, let me get out the epson salts.

I recently ran some numbers on several of these in your list. In case you're interested, price is pretty good relative to FCF for USMO, HLYS, NOOF and VPHM.

Contrary to Tony, I'm a fan of VPHM. They've got problems, but they've also still got a phase 3 product with results expected early- to mid-next year. Genzyme's competitor for vancocin hit a snag in clinical trials, which is good for VPHM. And vancocin is a moneymaker.

Thanks for the thoughts. I own NOOF. HLYS is cheap, maybe I should consider them even if I don't like their product. USMO seems to be in free fall as revenues are dropping. Ayron probably has the best approach.

Thanks...I haven't been able to update my blog in a while because of a family illness. Dealing with that kind of thing always puts things in context. I'll try to update shortly but, in a nutshell, thanks primarily to TZOO (which random.org picked for me), I'm up again over my benchmarks. FDG, FCX, and OVTI have also all been rising nicely.

We're only a year and a half in so I still don't say whether it will remain that way. But I still find time to check out your blog. Keep up the great work!

MG, given my "performance", you should probably take any statements I make as a contrarian indicator. Therefore, VPHM is likely destined to double over the next 12 months. ;-)

Just listening to The Little Book CDs. Searching the web for my blog entry, found the blog. Subscribing to the feed. Also linked to you in my post. Haven't had a chance to read all of your blog yet.

How's it going with MFI? Are you using foliofn?
